As (tech) news junkies (we’re an app studio by day), we’ve been thinking about how to keep up with important news developments and developer projects while burning fewer cycles doing so. Our answer is Top, an app (Chrome only for now) that notifies you about the top ten tech stories and products every day and is featured on Product Hunt today.

Top mines popular news sources like Hacker News, Product Hunt, and GitHub around the clock so you don’t have to check them over and over again to stay informed. The app brings these sources right to you by notifying you whenever they feature a new top post or repository.

You don’t have to wait the two-odd hours between notifications after you’ve installed Top to start sampling the notifications either. We’re also piping Top’s notifications into Facebook and Twitter, where you can sample a couple week’s worth of historical notifications in one fell swoop.
